Day 7 - Whatever tickles your fancy: Everything and everyone!
I think there is something really special about this program. I can never just re-watch it as something put on the tv as background noise. If it’s on, I’ve got to stop everything I’m working on and give it my full attention. Whitechapel is a great piece of storytelling and I’m just as invested in it every time. It’s beautifully shot, edited, and acted. I’m pretty much in love with this wonderful bit of television.
Day 6 - A moment that made you cry: “I’m not Nipper Reed.”
Chandler: You think you’re in control, but you’re not. No one is. There’s nothing but chaos and lies.
Miles: I told you that this investigation would take you to some dark places, didn’t I? But you don’t have to stay there.
Chandler: When Cazenove shot himself he was standing so close to me. I got his brains on my face. I’m not strong enough to bring this case in. I’m not Nipper Reed.
Miles: No, you’re bloody not. And you weren’t Abberline, either. You are Joseph Chandler and you’d better get used to it. Nobody said you had to be the greatest detective that ever lived, only the best detective that you can be. And so sometimes, you’ll fail. That’s okay, we all fail sometimes. But it’s not okay to give up. Get up, sir.
Chandler: Go away, Miles.
Day 5 - A moment that made you hold your breath: DI Chandler & DCI Cazenove’s confrontation in 2x03
Pretty much every episode of Whitechapel has about ten different moments that make me hold my breath, but this scene definitely stood out to me. I’ve watched series two a crazy amount of times, but this exchange never fails to have me on the edge of my seat. Their acting is just fantastic, and I adore the use of mirrors in this scene. It honestly gives me shivers every time.

I’m a very particular man; I like to have things a certain way. I’d rather live alone than try to accommodate someone who doesn’t understand that. I can’t change and I accept that’s the way it is and always will be.
Kent: Do you do this every night, sir?
Chandler: What? No, of course not…That would be strange…
